While reading The Economist, I stumble on a quote from Donald Sull, MIT: “Culture is an operating system for companies”. This really resonated with me and what we’ve been teaching at Firmamentum. Culture matters.
Peter Drucker is famous for saying “Culture eats strategy for breakfast” and this is the main reasons you cannot have nice things even with a fantastic strategy — Something that sadly bit me plenty of times in the past.
Why the phrase “culture is an operating system for companies” is such a powerful metaphor. It underscores the foundational role culture plays in shaping the behaviour, values, and overall environment of an organization.
